When I was a child, at the age of 13, I started fishing, but not for fish, as everyone else does, but for frogs. And I would go with a fishing rod to the canals, behind the city, first and catch them from the canals. Then the next year I got a “lotca” [traditional fishing boat] from my father, he gave me his fishing boat and I started going with it to the canals, in the Musura bay, especially there were the bigger frogs and I obviously caught more. After that, some time passed, a few years when I ended up fishing for them at night, not during the day, not only with a fishing rod, but with a headlight and a flashlight and pulling the boat behind me with one hand I would catch the frogs, with the other hand I would hold the boat and I would have a helper. I also had someone who would help me hold my light, I would light them and take them out of the water with my hand. And this way I managed to catch from 2-3 kilograms of frogs, meaning the cut off legs of the frog, to 6-7 kilograms per evening. It was good.
